Description
These pretty plaid placemats are made from 100% reclaimed and repurposed SILK from an unused upholstery sample. I've paired the silk with a cotton plaid border in a complimentary shade of deep pink. I've "stitched in the ditch" between the border and the mat to keep everything held together nicely.

The backing is a thick and beautiful floral cotton, making the placemats fully reversible.

They're made of natural fibers so are completely machine washable, dryable, and iron-able.

Dimensions are approximately 20"x13" or 51cm x 33cm.

Price shown is for a set of 2. What a lovely present for a young couple starting out or a couple of empty nesters! Or...think college roommates, twins, and singles who would appreciate something nice for themselves and their special company!

These placemats were handmade by me in my smoke-free studio in northern Ohio. Thanks for looking!"

cotton and silk fabric

I craft a variety of home goods from reclaimed and repurposed fabrics. My product line includes dinnerware such as coasters, placemats, napkins, and trivets/potholders, as well as practical items such as wine bottle bags, and reusable sandwich bags, and cell phone carriers. Many of my items can be personalized, and I enjoy working with customers on custom orders.

My fabrics come from various sources, such as thrift stores and recycling centers. But my best source is a fabric manufacturer based in Atlanta (where I used to live), who gives me boxes and boxes of high-end fabric samples, never used, that would otherwise be destined for the landfill. These include beautiful silks, linens, wools, and cottons, as well as very expensive synthetics. I love turning these into useful, one-of-a-kind products.
