Open Hearted Norwegian Solid Silver Fork Bracelet

I create this upcycled art bracelet by forging the tines of a vintage silver plated fork into an ornate heart pattern. I then shape the length of the fork into a rounded cuff band.

I use a very special fork for this bracelet - a beautiful, antique, solid silver Norwegian dinner fork, with floral sculptural castings. The TH Marthinsen company manufactured it some time between 1926 and 1935 in Norway, in their Dovre pattern. The composition is .830 silver, the Norwegian standard, similar to sterling (.925).

Please note the letter monogram (I believe it's an 'E') on the inside of the bracelet. The monogram will usually be hidden from view when the bracelet is worn.

This bracelet is sized a bit large - it will comfortably fit the upper arm of most women. It can be worn on the wrist as well, but it will fit more loosely (like a bangle) for most wearers.

The bracelet will arrive packaged in an attractive jewelry gift pouch, making a convenient, unique and presentable handmade gift.

I carefully forge and finish the bracelet to include no sharp points, so that it won't damage your skin or clothing.

I forge each individual piece when the customer purchases it. Please note that each bracelet is unique and handcrafted, so small details of the sculptural tine element will vary from piece to piece.

HOW TO WEAR:

The cuff bracelet opens on the side, instead of at the bottom like most other cuff bracelets. To put it on, bend the bracelet open wide enough to slide wrist/arm through comfortably, squeeze to close. Bending won't hurt the bracelet as long as it's not bent to extremes repeatedly.

ORDERING & SHIPPING:

I custom forge the bracelets following each purchase. Within 3 days of purchase, I will create your bracelet and deliver it to the US Postal Service for shipping.
