little reclaimed chestnut bench

hard to believe it, but this thick, beautiful chestnut (now basically extinct) was used merely to hold up the plaster in an old middletown connecticut home. fortunately my friends were able to save some of it from the waste stream. you can still see the lines across the legs where the lathing was. the top was part of a ceiling or floor. now it's an awesome, natural little bench, left as "in the raw" as possible to...
