Earrings handmade from brass necklace openwork huge beads pierced caged

Long ago, I came into some ratty, torn up, tangled and horrible looking necklaces, all vintage...all looking beyond repair. Actually there wasn't one in the batch that I could fix, so I salvaged some parts, bits and pieces of chain and a few beads. Later I went through my stash and discovered that what I thought were huge bead caps were actually two halves of oval beads, openwork brass - the clue was the solder that held them together. Digging deeper through that same stash, I located two ribbed 8mm beads that probably came from the same necklace....ah-ha...with two pair of two beads, I made a pair of earrings.

Since I didn't have any brass ear wires, I hung them on silverplate and y'know they look pretty cool. The vintage brass has areas of patina - just enough to coordinate with the ear wires.

Each has a 1 1/2 inch dangle - those openwork beads are huge!

I can switch to clip earrings if you prefer.

Refund? But of course - - not every piece is perfect for you once it has arrived, so I will cheerfully refund any return. Just let me know ahead of time, please. I think two weeks is fair, time enough to be sure yet not so long its forgotten.

Offering jewelry made from bits and pieces of old decrepit or broken necklaces and bracelets. Lots of the parts are vintage, none were usable as they were and I have given them new life by incorporating them into my creations.

Its fun to showcase old beads, connectors, clasps and chains with their new life.
