Book 'em Danno - Bookworm

Kuttlefish is currently not accepting orders. Feel free to browse our content and please check back soon!

BOOKWORM a collection of book lamps – vintage Danish books rescued and lovingly handcrafted, that will that warm up any room, office, café, bar.

These books used were “rescued” from being dumped, and possibly shredded, from our local recycling center.

Each one has been chosen for its muted colors and patterns on the covers and beautiful page edges. Some with leather bindings with gold leaf imprint.

The books’ lamp works are fastened internally and in most cases, the pages are glued together. The textile twisty cords I chose because I feel they add a little more vintage flair. The feet of grey felt.

Some lamps takes four to five hours to make, and a lot of research goes into finding just the right bulbs - We especially like the vintage looking Edison bulb! Our favorite is a modern day version of the vintage bulb that is LED!!!!.

These lamps are meant to give ambient lighting. NOT intended to light up your entire room or even read by. You can of course use ANY bulb you like.

For me, it’s about enlightenment, and recycling an item that was used for education/entertainment - now in the form of a lamp. Many of them served almost 100 years ago as encyclopedias, novels.
