We're kicking off our Friday Features series, where we put the spotlight on three Kuttlefish sellers. We'll not only be sharing the sellers and products we love, but also the stories behind the upcycling that make us love them even more. Read on to learn more about a few of our homegrown sellers (based in Idaho and Colorado), and one of our many international sellers inspiring from across the globe in India.
Green the Map
Green the Map may be one of our most diverse and prolific shops, featuring a variety of timeless handbags and wallets, but also perfectly upcycled glassware and coasters. Based in Delhi, India, upcycling artisans work with waste collectors across the city—particularly seeking tires, juice cartons and beer bottles—to do their part in addressing the issue of urban waste and its blind disposal in the already overflowing landfills. As they put it, "the waste travels through the hands of our magical ‘karigars’ to reincarnate as bags, wallets and so on." And as if the ecofriendly upcycling wasn't enough to love, Green the Map also creates jobs for people in marginalized communities. We're currently lusting for their sleek shoulder bags that contrast recycled tires with recycled jute and leather.
